Respon Tanaman Porang (Amarphopallus ancophillus) dengan Pemberian Fitosan dan Kompos Jerami Padi di Lahan Salin

Abstract

The porang plant is a commodity that has prospects as an alternative food in which efforts to increase production continue, one of which is by utilizing marginal land such as saline soil. Porang is a plant that is susceptible to salinity and has a dormancy problem of 4-5 months. The purpose of this study is to identify the physiological characters of porang plants and break dormancy by adding phytosan and rice straw compost in saline soils. This study uses factorial RAK with 3 replications and 2 factors, namely concentrations of 0 ppm, 750 ppm, 1500 ppm and 2250 ppm phytosan and the application of rice straw compost 0 tons/ha (control), 5 tons/ha (45 g/plant) and 10 t/ha (90 g/plant). The results shows that the concentration of phytosan treatment has a significant effect on the parameters of germination age, plant height, number of leaves, age of bulbils exit, number of bulbils, root length, root fresh weight, root dry weight, root volume, chlorophyll a, root Na content and root K content. Application of rice straw compost showed a significant effect on germination age, bulbile discharge age, number of bulbils, root length, root volume, root Na content and root K content, but had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, root wet weight, dry weight root and chlorophyll a, b and total.
