Not all types of soil have good characteristics, so that the soil has a carrying capacity that is not low. Soils with high clay content have low soil carrying capacity, so they need to be strengthened by soil stabilization or soil improvement processes. Soil stabilization is the process of combining soil with certain materials with the aim of improving the technical and mechanical properties of the soil in accordance with certain technical requirements. In this study soil stabilization by adding certain materials to the original soil composition. The added materials used are Quick Lime (CaO) and Corn Cob Ash (ABJ) which are expected to improve the soil in terms of CBR values and free compressive strength. From the results of the study, it was found that native soil according to USCS is included in the CL (Clay with Low Plasticity) soil type and according to AASHTO is included in A-7-6, having a water content of 63.87% and a specific gravity of 2.68. Based on the Atterberg test, corn cob ash and quick lime are non-plastic. For the variation of the original soil mixture + 10% ABJ + 10 CaO, it has the highest maximum dry unit weight of 1.594 gr/cm3 and optimum water content of 19.28%. The CBR value is greatest in the original soil mixture + 10% ABJ + 10 CaO where the CBR value is 8.29%. The maximum soil compressive strength value of all mixtures is found in variations of original soil + 10% ABJ + 10 CaO , where the value is 1.926 cm2 with a curing period of 3 days.en_US
