dc.description.abstractLandslide or ground movement is defined as the movement of a slope by masses of soil and or rock that compose the slope. North Tapanuli Regency is prone to landslides due to its hilly and valley topography, steep slopes and high rainfall every year. This is why it is necessary to identify landslides in North Tapanuli Regency by utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS). The model used in this study refers to the Peraturan Menteri Pekerjan Umum No.22 Tahun 2007. By analyzing human factor as the trigger factor of landslide, the analyzed parameters are cropping pattern, excavation and slope cutting, pond printing, drainage, construction, population density and mitigation efforts. Landslide vulnerability mapping using Geographic Information System (GIS) was conducted by scoring, weighting, and overlaying the indicators using QGIS software. From the analysis of the landslide vulnerability map in North Tapanuli Regency, there are three potential landslides, namely low vulnerability, medium vulnerability and high vulnerability. For risk with a low level of vulnerability of 76.23% or an area of 2902.515 km2, a medium category of 23.75% or an area of 904.123 km2, and a high category of 0.02% or an area of 0.747 km2 of the total area of the regency.en_US
