    Abstract
One of the problems that most countries in the world face is poverty. Both developed and developing countries are affected by poverty, albeit to different degrees. Although the world is witnessing tremendous changes in the field of technology, poverty is still a burden that the government must address, including Indonesia's, despite its rich natural resources. Based on the data, Indonesia has the fourth largest population in the world with a population of more than 225 million people and exhibits a diversity of cultures and social classes (BPS, 2015). In March 20i 5, the poverty rate in Indonesia reached 28.59 million people, or around 11.22 percent of the Indonesian population (BPS, 2015). In 2019, the poverty rate has decreased in Indonesia, where the number of poor in Indonesia was 24.79 million people in September (BPS, 2019). According to the 2009 PKH (Hope Family Program) General Guidelines, it is stated that PKH is a program related to efforts to improve the quality of human resources (HR), especially education and health. Similar schemes have been introduced in several countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Turkey, Chile, Colombia, Cambodia, Pakistan and Bangladesh, known as Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT). This research delves into the implementation of PKH to reduce poverty in Luahagundre Subdistrict of Maniamolo, Nias Selatan Regency. This research employs qualitative approach. The data presented below, both primary and secondary, are obtained through various data collecting techniques. The primary data are collected through interviews and observations. They are processed and analyzed by employing descriptive qualitative analysis technique. Thefindings indicate that in implementing PKH as an effort to reduce the poverty in Luahagundre Maniamolo Subdistrict, Nias Selatan Regency, viewed from the Edward Ill model approach, communication in form of coordination and socialization about the PKH in Luahagundre Maniamolo Subdistrict, Nias Selatan Regency has been conducted in advance. However, the coordination and socialization needs to be conducted sustainably.
