Campur Kode dalam Novel Southern Eclipse Karya Asabell Audida: Kajian Sosiolinguistik

Abstract

The research aims to (1) describes a form of code mixing in Southern Eclipse novels (2) describes the function of code mixing in Southern Eclipse. The theory used in this research is sosiolinguistics. The method used is a qualitative method. The methods used for data collection in this research are library techniques, listening or reading techniques, note-taking techniques. The result of the analysis show that code mixing in Asabell Audida Southern Eclipse novels contains 48 data. The highest form of code mixing in the form of words totalling 34 data, code mixing in the form of phrases totalling 10 data. And code mixing of baster form totalling 4 data. Code mixing in the form of repetition of words and idioms was not found in this research. In the Southern Eclipse novels by Asabell Audida there 7 functions of code mixing are found. Named the need for vocabulary, conveying intent, discussing certain topics, demonstrating learning, emphasizing intent, softening specch, and questioning intent.
