    Abstract
Phase Change Material (PCM) as Thermal Energy Storage has been made by mixing PEG 6000-Magnetite (Fe3O4) by sonication method using a temperature of 80ºC and a frequency of 37 KHz. Where the composition variation used is 20% Fe3O480%PEG 6000 and 30% Fe3O470%PEG 6000 which is encapsulated with four copper tubes into concrete. Testing and characterization were carried out to show that the addition of magnetite (Fe3O4) was able to improve thermal conductivity properties in Phase Change Material (PCM). XRD characterization was carried out on Fe3O4 is a crystal with a cubic structure and obtained a crystal size of 23.85 nm, at PEG 6000 it is a semicrystal with a crystal size of 25.32 nm. The results of the SEM analysis obtained nanomagnetite particles measuring 10μm homogeneously distributed in the PEG 6000 structure. With EDX elements found elements C, O, and Fe. FTIR characterization displays functional groups that prove that in the PCM tested there is PEG 6000 and also magnetite (Fe3O4). VSM characterization results show that PCM is superparamagnetic with stronger magnetic properties comparable to the addition of magnetite (Fe3O4). The latent heat of the PCM storage capacity was measured and had a thermal energy absorption area value of 457,553 mJ. Thermal conductivity and PCM calorimeter bomb characterization was obtained at 0.30 (W/mK) and 12810 (J/g). Then a density test with porosity is carried out where the PCM density value increases while the porosity value decreases with the addition of magnetite. From this research, it was found that the most optimal PCM in the composition of PCM 20%Fe3O480%PEG 6000 based on thermal distribution testing with the highest temperature reaching 60ºC
