    Kemampuan Tawar Penjaja Seks Komersial dalam Penggunaan Kondom Untuk Mencegah HIV/AIDS di Jalan Lintas Sumatera Wilayah Kabupaten Langkat Tahun 2008

    Abstract
    The prostitute's are represent one of high risk group in spreading of HIV/ AIDS. In Langkat District, till October 2007 there were 7 cases AIDS reported which its patient are prostitute's. The infected of prostitutes were anticipated related with the existence of 85 cafes in jalinsum as place of sexual transaction. Condom is one of prevention HN / AIDS which recommendation by World Health Organization (WHO). Meanwhile, The prostitute's whose have high risk for the infection ofHN/AIDS, can use the condom to protect them from AIDS. Research has been done with the explanatory type to 104 the prostitute's to analyse the influence of factor predisposing (knowledge and attitude), enabling (mount the complication, availibility of condom, customer's comfort) and reinforcing (family, Non-Government Organization/NGO, health workers, opinion leader) to prostitute's bargaining power in using condom in Langkat District. Data collected by interview using quesioner. Data were processed by using multiple regression. The result of study shows that 24% of the prostitutes have good knowledge, 27 ,9% have good attitude, 51 % stated that using condom is fairly complicated, 44,2% stated that it is difficult for them to get the condom, 52,9% stated that their customers do not feel confortable in using condom, 74% stated that the role of their family is not good, 38,5% stated that the role of NGO is not good, 28,8% stated that the role of health worker is not good, and 37,5% stated that the role of opinion leader is not good. 70,2% of the prostitute's bargaining power in asking their customers to use condom use is bad category. The result of multiple regression analysis shows that Adjusted R Square is 0.856, which means that 85,6% of the prostitutes' bargaining power to ask their customers to use condom can be explained by the knowledge, attitude, level of difficulty, condom availability, customer's comfort, family, NGO, health workers and opinion leader. The remaining 14.4% can be explained by the other factors which are not examined in this study. The dominant factor which influence the prostitute's bargaining power is attitude ( B = 0,174) It is suggested that the District Government of Langkat and the component of community to improve the quantity and quality ofNGO's personnel especially those are working on HIV/ AIDS control, in order to approach the prostitutes intensively that information about everything related to condom including the benefit and how to use it can result the prostitutes who are able to convince their customers to use condom
