    Abstract
    H Adam MalikGeneral Hospital has conducted various attempts to solve the problem of patient's dissatisfaction but, up to now, the attempts have not been maximal yet. The poor team work perfomed was one of the causes of the incident of this problem at H Adam Malik General Hospital Medm1; The purpose of this explanatory survey study was to analyze the influence of the characteristics of the individuals and team work on the performance of the internist working at if. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan. The population if this study were all of the 35 internists working at H Adam Malik General Hospital Medan and all of them were selected to be the samples for this study through total sampling technique. The primary data for this study were obtained through questionnaire distribution and observation. The data obtained were analyzed through multiple linear regression at level of confident 95% The result of this study showed that the variables of length of service (p=0.003), cooperation (p=0.004), and togetherness (p=0.000) had influence on the performance of the internists and simultaneously (R Square)provided contribution of 7 5. 5%. The aspect of togetherness had strongest influence (0. 516). The management of H Adam Malik General Hospital is suggested to make Standard Operational Procedure and regulation which regulates the performance of the team of internists in the same department on inter-department and policy on punishment and reward for the success and failure of team work related to promotion, incentive arrangement procedure, and several issues that can inhibit or facilitate the provision of facilities for the specialists
