dc.description.abstractThe harmonics produced by industries loads and house hold in the distribution system is increasing in the future. This is caused simultaneously by two things: the use of capacitor bank:s as the improvement of power factor and the use of power electronics (inverter) in order to increase efficiency. This recearch was aimed to analyze the harmonics which occu"ed in the system of the industrial power distribution and design a passive filter, 'single tuned filter' type, which would reduce or mitigate harmonics. The designed filter was simulated by using MATLAB/Simulink Power System Bolck:set. The result of the research showed that after order-3, 5, and 7 of single tuned filter had been installed, obtained for THDv of 26,28% decrease become 1,57% and this value was under IEEE 519-1992 standard, i.e.,5%; whereas THDi of28,63% would decrease to 1,47%, and this value was under IEEE 519-1992 standard, i.e., 8%.en_US
