    Abstract
    In steel construction, each part of the elements of its structure is joined with one another by using connectors, welding and bolts. The types of joint and connectors in steel construction are highly influenced by its strength, stiffness, and ductility of the joint. The types of joint studied here was joint which carries the moment which operates in the middle of the span of a beam in steel construction. In the analysis, of the beam structure, the level of joint stiffness plays an important role in increasing the moment capacity in the connection. One of the techniques of increasing the moment capacity in beam joint is by using end-plate with stiffeners. The objective of the research was to analyze steel beam joint by using bolts and joining plates and to find out to what extent the effect of stiffeners on increasing the limit and stiffnesSi of the beam joint, using end-plates. The research used experiment and numerical simulation with finite element methods. From the result of data analysis, it was f01~nd that the maximum of the limit load in beam joint by using end-plate, based on the result of the experimenf was 3,595 kg (wilhouf sfijfener), 5,582 kg (stiffener in the lower part) and 5,882 kg (stiffener in the upper & lower part); in the numerir;al simulation with finite element method, it was 3,218 kg (without stiffener), 5,254 kg (stiffener in the lower part), and 6.12 7 kg (stiffener in the upper & lower part). By the existence of stiffener, the limit load increases to 35.60% (in the lower part) and 38. 88% (in the upper & lower part) by the experiment, and 38. 7 4% (in the lower part) and 47.47% (in the lower & upper part) by numerical simulation. By the existence of the stiffeners, stiffness increases to 46. 67% (in the lower part) 4nd 53.27% (in the lower & upper part) by experiment. and 52.71% (in the lower part) and 63.44% (in the upper & lower part) by numerical simulation.
