Analisis Tingkat Pemahaman Nelayan terhadap Alat Tangkap Ramah Lingkungan Berbasis Code Of Conduct For Responsible Fisheries (Ccrf) di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (Pps) Belawan, Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Fishermen should manage and catch fishery resources properly and responsibly Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries (CCRF) which is the international principle and standard for each country in developing fisheries to ensure the sustainability of fish resources and the environment so that they are utilized optimally. Capture fisheries problems include social, economic, environmental problems and environmental damage which is a threat to the sustainability of fishing activities. This threat occurs naturally as well as fishermen's understanding of fish resources. The purpose of this study was to determine fishermen's understanding of CCRF-based environmentally friendly fishing gear and whether the factors of age, education level and fishing gear used affect fishermen's understanding of CCRF-based environmentally friendly fishing gear. This research was conducted in October - November 2022 using a survey method with a quantitative approach. Based on the results of this study, it shows that seen from age, level of education and fishing gear used. Based on the age factor, fishermen aged 21-40 and 41> years understand more than fishermen aged <20 years. Based on the educational level factor, fishermen with junior and senior high school graduates understand more than those who do not attend school and elementary school. Based on the fishing gear used by fishing line, squid fishing rods, gill net and traps understand more than fishing gear purse seine and bouke ami. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the understanding of fishermen at the Belawan Ocean Fishing Port has yielded quite good results regarding the use of environmentally friendly fishing gear based on CCRF.
