    Abstract
Soil macrofauna diversity is one of the biological natural resources that is very beneficial to the environment. Its existence is influenced by biotic, as well as biotic, factors around it. Abiotic factors that pervade climate (rainfall, temperature, humidity, wind speed, and solar radiation), physical and chemical properties of soil, and biotic factors (plants and organisms), as well as tillage affect the presence of soil macrofauna. This research was conducted to determine the Diversity of Soil Macrofauna in the Legume Area in the UPT Area. Main Seeds of Tanjung Selamat, Deli Serdang Regency. Determination of sampling points using purposive sampling in which soil macrofauna samples were taken used the Quadrant method at both locations. Location I (peanuts) and location II (soy beans). Soil macrofauna found consisted of 21 species belonging to 4 classes, 10 orders, 17 families, and 21 genera. The highest population density values were obtained at location I (Peanuts) with 3 (three) species, namely Pontoscolex corethrurus (69.46 ind/m2), Tetramorium bicarinatum (62.97 ind/m2), and Monomorium pharanois (26.90 ind/m2). In location II (Soybean) there were 2 (two) species, namely Pontoscolex corethrurus (93.81 ind/m2), and Oecophylla longinoda (17.97 ind/m2). The highest Diversity Index and Uniformity Index values of each species in the two locations were in the peanut area with a diversity index value of 2.158 (medium), and a Uniformity Index value of 0.797 (High Species Uniformity). Similarity Index values of the two peanut and soybean areas namely 55% (medium category)
