    Abstract
    Background : Body height as a result of the maximum measurement of the length of the body's bones that form the body axis (the body axis), measured from the top of the head (vertex) to the lowest point of the body from the calcaneus bone (tuberositas calcanei) which is called the heel. one of the parameters of human growth and health. Anthropometry is a measurement of humans. In general, measuring the height of a victim in the forensic identification process is an easy matter, if the condition of the body is intact, or the body parts are complete, so that the height can be assembled and measured. The method in forensic anthropology that can be used for identification is anthropometry, namely by measuring body parts. Anthropometric measurements based on height, head length and width, fingerprints, nose shape, ears, chin, skin color, hair color, markings on the body, and DNA. Methods : This research is a descriptive study using a cross sectional research design. Using a sample of two tribes in Indonesia, namely the Sundanese and Toba Batak who have met the inclusion criteria. The total sample is 94 samples, where the samples taken are body height and palm length. Result : The formula for formulating height based on the length of the lower leg is: Member of the Medan Sunggal Police Gender Male: Height (male) = 135.484 + 0.906 (length of the right lower leg), Height (male) = 137.187 + 0.864 ( length of the left lower leg). Female members of the Sunggal Medan Police: Height (female) = 145.631 + 0.430 (length of the right lower leg), Height (female) = 152.385 +0.214 (length of the left lower leg), In the entire sample Height (cm) = 132.013 +0.998 (length of the right lower leg), in the overall sample Height (cm) = 135.537 + 0.898 (length of the left lower leg)
