dc.description.abstractDiabetic neuropathy (ND) is the most common complication causing morbidity, mortality and poor quality of life. The prevalence of neuropathy in patients with DM is approximately 30p% to 50% of patients. Early detection of diabetic sensory neuropathy can be done with the Ipswich Touch Test (IpTT), tuning fork and monofilament. Objective This study aims to determine the comparative accuracy of the Ipswich Touch Test and tuning fork examination against monofilament examination for diagnosis in diabetic neuropathy patients at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan Methode This study used a diagnostic test with a cross sectional design. The study sample consisted of 24 diabetic neuropathy patients. Examination of Ipswich Touch Test, tuning fork and Monofilament was performed in diabetic neuropathy patients. Accuracy value assessment by assessing the Area Under Curve (AUC) on the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve. Results Of the 24 research subjects, the average age was 54.75 years, the majority were female (83.3%), graduated from Bachelor (79.2%) and and the majority were civil servants (79.2%). many as 41.67% of research subjects had diabetes mellitus > 10 years duration and HbA1C value > 6.5 of 87.5%. In this study, the accuracy of the Ipswich Touch Test examination was obtained by 70.8%, the sensitivity was 63.2%, the specification was 100% and the accuracy value for the accuracy of the tuning fork was 54.2%, the sensitivity was 52.6%, the specificity was 60%. the AUC IpTT value was 0.708 and the tuning fork was 0.542. Conclusion monofilament inspection with Ipswich Touch Test has a value of accuracy and sensitivity that is better than the tuning fork examination. Ipswich Touch Test is better than tuning fork in diagnosing diabetic neuropathyen_US
