dc.description.abstract | Bivalve, Arcidae granosa, has a high economic value. It cause, the activity of clam
harvest among community in Sialang Buah Beach increase in order to take the blood
mussel as many as they can. It is feared, the population of blood clams to decrease in
on that beach. The research conducted aimed to determine the density value, the
distribution pattern and the growth pattern of blood clam as well as the correlation
analysis to the physical factors were examined. This study used the "Purposive
Sampling" method consisting of three stations based on the presence or the absence of
human activity around the station. 1st Station was an activity-free area, 2nd station was
a tourist area and 3td station was a stopover area for fishermen's canoes. The blood
clam obtained was counted for the density, the distribution pattern was analysis using
the moricita index formula, and the growth pattern analysis by calculating the length
and total weight of individual blood clam and the relationship of aquatic chemical
physical factors with blood clam density was obtained using pearson correlation
analysis. The research showed, the highest density value was obtained at 1st station
which was 0,78 ind / m² and the lowest at 3rd station which was 0,56 ind / m². The
growth pattern of blood clam from each station was negative allometric with the value
b < 3, means that the length was more dominant than weight. The distribution pattern
of blood clam from each station was classified as clustered. And the results of
correlation analysis show salinity, DO and C-organics had a very strong effect to the
density of blood clam. | en_US |
