    Abstract
Background Computer vision syndrome (CVS) is a public health problem involving 75-90% of visual display terminal (VDT) users. The use of VDT in the long term will reduce amplitude of accommodation and cause asthenopia symptoms. The greater the degree of myopia, the smaller the amplitude of accommodation. Purpose To determine the comparison of the amplitude of accommodation before and after using the visual display terminal and its relationship with computer vision syndrome in myopia degrees Methods This research is quasi-experimental with pre post test design. Examinations carried out were refraction examination, measurement of amplitude of accommodation with the Royal Air Force (RAF) rule before and after using VDT for 40 minutes, and filling out the Computer Vision Syndrome Questionnaire (CVS-Q) Results The sample of this study were 35 myopia patients consisting of 16 males (45.7%) with an average age of 24,11 year old. The distribution of mild, moderate, and high myopia was 37,1%, 40% and 22,9%. There was a significant decrease in the amplitude of accommodation between before and after using VDT (p<0.001) in all myopia degrees and in mild myopia (P=0.001), moderate myopia (p=0.001) and high myopia (p=0.009). There are 60% of the samples experienced CVS. There is a significant relationship between the amplitude of accommodation and the incidence of CVS (p=0.023). Conclusion There was a significant decrease in the amplitude of accommodation between before and after using VDT (p<0.001) in all myopia degree and at each degree of myopia. There is a significant relationship between the amplitude of accommodation and the incidence of CVS
