The existence of hornbills in the wild is very important to know in monitoring and protection efforts, especially in Ketambe Research Station. The aim of this study was to study the density, distribution pattern of the hornbills population and the effect percentage of maturity of the ficus pods on the number of hornbills at the Ketambe Research Station. The data collection for this study was carried out using the permanent line transect method. The percentage of ficus maturity was calculated direcly using binocular. The hornbills density was analyzed using distance 7.4 software and the population distribution pattern was calculated using morisita index. Correlation Analysis between thef percentage of maturity of the ficus pods and the number of hornbills was carried out using a linear regression model. The results showed that Bushy-crested hornbills (Anorrhinus galeritus) had the highest density with estimated 12.91 ind/km2. The morisita index value Bushy-crested hornbills (Anorrhinus galeritus), Rhinoceros hornbills (Buceros rhinoceros), and Wreathed hornbills (Rhyticeros undulatus)>0 indicated a cluster pattern. The morisita index White-crowned hornbills (Berenicornis comatus)=0 indicated a random pattern, and morisita index value of helmeted hornbills (Rhinoplax vigil) <0 indicated a uniform pattern. The linear regression models shows that the percentage of maturity of ficus fruit has no significant effect on the number of hornbills (p-value<0.05) with abnormal residual data (p-value<0.05).
