This research aims to determine the influence of gender, financial rewards, family environment, internship experience and professional training on the interest of USU accounting students for a career as a public accountant. Several previous studies on students' interest in a career as a public accountant have shown different results. Therefore, other research needs to be carried out to retest theories about students' interest in a career as a public accountant.
The population of this research was 1149 students of S1 accounting Class of 2016-2020. The sampling method used was the accidental sampling method, so 92 samples were obtained. The research data was obtained by distributing questionnaires to USU accounting S1 students, Class of 2016-2020. The data analysis techniques used are data quality, descriptive statistical analysis and multiple linear analysis. The data analysis process that is carried out first is data quality, descriptive statistics, classical assumption testing, multiple linear analysis and then hypothesis testing.
The results of this study partially show that financial rewards, family environment, internship experience and professional training affect the interest of accounting students to pursue a career as a public accountant. Meanwhile, gender does not affect the interest of accounting students to pursue a career as a public accountant. Simultaneously, gender, financial awards, family environment, internship experience and professional training affect the interest of accounting students for a career as a public accountant.
