Kajian Kualitas Air Danau Anak Laut Kecamatan Singkil Utara Kabupaten Aceh Singkil Provinsi Aceh

Abstract

Anak Laut Lake is a coastal lake whose existence is widely used as a tourism area, fishing ground, Fish Landing Base, Floating Net Cages area, around which there are settlements. Therefore, considering these various activities, water quality assessment according to its designation needs to be carried out. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of physical, chemical and biological parameters and water quality status of Anak Laut Lake that can be used as information. This research was conducted in March-April 2023 by taking samples at 4 stations. Measurement of water quality parameters includes physical parameters (brightness, turbidity, temperature, TSS, TDS, depth, current velocity), chemical parameters (DO, pH, BOD, BOT, phosphate, nitrate, salinity) and biological parameters (total coliforms). Determination of water quality index using the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) method, the National Sanitation Foundation-Water Quality Index (NSF-WQI) and the Pollution Index (PI). The results showed that the waters of Anak Laut Lake were still within normal limits except for the parameters of nitrate and phosphate in all measurements, turbidity, BOD and total coliform in several measurements. Anak Laut Lake is in the status of marginal-poor water quality (CCME), good (NSFWQI) and lightly-moderately polluted (PI).
