This study aims to describe the shape of the gerga ornament, the function of the gerga ornament, and the meaning of the gerga ornament found in the Pakpak Bharat office building. The theory used in this study is the theory of Ferdinand De Saussure. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method, and the data collection method uses the listening and speaking method. The data analysis technique used in this study uses the referential equivalent method. In analyzing the data, the researcher focuses on the workings of Ferdinand De Saussure's semiotics. Saussure's focus is that language is a system of signs, and each sign is composed of two parts, namely the signifier and the signified. The researcher will describe the function and meaning of the signs on the gerga ornaments found in the Pakpak Bharat office building and then draw conclusions. The results of field research show that gerga ornaments have a very influential relationship with the social life of the Pakpak community, where these ornaments are used as a guide for assessing an action taken by one person against another or as material for living a harmonious life. This can be seen from the understanding expressed in the field where the meanings that appear are closely related to the actions that are often carried out by the community. The gerga in the Pakpak Bharat office building have different functions and meanings, every sheet of board decorated with ornaments in the Pakpak community has a meaning of beauty, kinship, goodness, and mystical elements to protect the home owner and as a tying of the family system in society Sir.
