Abstract

This study aims to describe code switching and code mixing that occurs between sellers and buyers in Secanggang Village Friday Weekend. This study uses data collection techniques using record analysis techniques, observe, note. The source of the data in this study is the sellers and buyers in Secanggang Village Friday Weekend. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach using sociolinguistic theory. The results of this study indicate that the events of Code Switching and Code Mixing between sellers and buyers in Pekan Jumat Secanggang Village are because the people master more than one language. Types of code switching in the form of internal and external code switching. Inward, outward, and mixed types of code mixing. And the factors that cause code-switching and code-mixing are due to speakers, interlocutors, changes in conversation topics, the presence of a third person and the presence of various languages, as well as many immigrants from different regions and different ethnicities. Then the language they master becomes a communication tool in everyday conversation both in the family, society and community.
