This study is aiming to find out about the parent-child relationship portrayed in the literary work, to find out the differences in the parentchild relationship between the four main characters, and to find out how the parenting styles affect the children's character development. The theory used in this study is Sociology of Literature by Wellek and Waren. The writer completes the analysis using the qualitative research method, which represents all the data in the form of words and sentences. The writer collects data from various sources including God of War novel by J.M. Barlog, relevant books, articles, journals, and YouTube videos to support the analysis. Based on the analysis results, the literary work shows portrayals of the Parent-Child Relationship between the four main characters. Both parents love their children so much, but they show affection differently toward their children. Both parenting styles affect the children‘s character development in different ways. One helps the child develop well, while another negatively influences the child‘s development.en_US
