Citra Perempuan pada Tokoh Utama dalam Novel Ibuk Karya Iwan Setyawan: Kajian Sosiologi Sastra

Abstract

The novel Ibuk by Iwan Setiawan tells the story of the life struggle of a female character named Tinah as a good wife and mother in the midst of an inadequate economy. For this reason, the researcher examines the image of women depicted by the character Tinah with the research title Image of Women in the Main Figures in the Novel Ibuk by Iwan Setyawan :Sociology of Literature. This study uses the Sociology of Literature approach and the Image of Women. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method as a whole utilizing ways of interpretation by presenting it in the form of a description. The source of data in this study is the novel Ibuk by Iwan Setyawan. The data collection technique used in this research is note-taking technique. Data analysis will always be connected with the context (novel content) to find out the discussion on the image of women. The results of the study show that there are three images, namely: the image of women for their role as individuals, the image of women for their role as domestic (family), the image of women for their role as a society.
