dc.description.abstract | This paper aims at revealing the procedures and process of self-check independent service system in

service of the Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara library, and how to overcome these
obstacles. This paper employs the methods of observation, interview, documentation, and
literature study conducted in the Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara library. The
result indicates that self-check independent service system in circular service of the
Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara libra,y run independently without other people's help,
namely independent service of book loan and return which is carried out without the need to come
the staff; the availability of hardware such as barcode reader, RFID reader, security gate,
multipurpose station (MPS), and Software such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and
Senayan Library Management System (SLIMS). It is found that the self-check independent service
system is fully implemented in the circular service. If a problem occurs, the users can come to the
librarian in the circular service. However, the implementation of self-check independent
service system has not run optimally due to some problems such as power outage, books that have
not been tagged and input, many users do not know how to use the self-check independent machine,
and there is only one self-check independent machine available. | en_US |
