Analisis Efisiensi Produksi Penangkar Benih Padi di Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Seeds have a major role in the agricultural production activities of rice plants. Breeding of rice seeds is a means to produce quality seeds. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of the production factors of land area, seeds, labor, fertilizers and pesticides on the production of rice seed breeders and to analyze the technical, allocative and economic efficiency achievements of rice seed breeders in Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra Province. The data analysis method used is the stochastic frontier production function and analysis of technical efficiency, allocative efficiency, and economic efficiency. The number of samples using cross sectional data was 50 farmers using the simple random sampling method. The results of the analysis show that the factors of production of land area and seeds have a significant positive effect on the production of rice seed raisers, while the production factors of labour, fertilizers and pesticides have a negative and insignificant effect on the production of rice seed raisers and rice seed farming farming has not reached the highest efficiency where all farmers have technically efficient, the use of production factors for land area and seeds is not allocatively efficient and the production factors for land area, seeds and pesticides have not reached the level of economic efficiency
