This final assignment and research was carried out with the aim of analyzing, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the expenditure verification process carried out by the Medan City DPRD. The research method used includes primary data collection through direct observation and interviews with shopping verification officers, as well as secondary data collection from related documents. Factors such as inaccuracies in data recording and processing, limited information systems, and weak internal controls are obstacles in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of expenditure verification. Based on these findings, this study provides recommendations for improving expenditure verification procedures, including improving data management, improving the quality of information systems, and so on. It is hoped that the results of this research can serve as a guideline for the Medan City DPRD in improving expenditure verification procedures in order to increase accuracy, transparency and efficiency in budget management. In addition, this research can also contribute knowledge related to public financial governance and budget management in the context of regional legislative institutions.
