    Abstract
This study aims to analyze and describe the traditional games of the Malay community in the village of Jaring Halus. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews and observation. The source of the data in this study is traditional games using the theory of folklore studies. The conclusions from this study indicate that some of the traditional games that are still played in Jaring Halus Village are used as entertainment and some are used to be competed. The types of games that are still played by the Malay people of Jaring Halus Village are in the form of: jengklek, ruby, yeye rubber, congklak, broken plates, sembalang, and long poles. In Jaring Halus Village, there are also traditional games that have been banned from being played such as: kites, marbles/guli, hide and seek, tops, catfish stakes, and coconut shell/shell rope. Because the Malay people of Jaring Halus still believe in the existence of myths in these traditional games. The myths that exist in Jaring Halus Village are in the form of prohibitions on games, some examples are: the game of hide and seek which is forbidden to be played at sunset. Then the wau kite game which is prohibited to be played because it can bring about epidemics, this prohibition exists because people believe there is a myth behind the traditional game which is forbidden to be played. Although it has been banned, the game has also been played in the Fine Net Village. Folk games in Jaring Halus Village, both in the form of games that are still being played and those that have been banned, have several functions, namely as fun entertainment, as education both psychomotor/cognitive/affective for children, as social control that regulates people's behavior, and as a unifier to create unity in society.
