Hubungan Interaksi Virtual dalam Membentuk Cyberculture Pembelajaran Daring Mahasiswa di Kota Medan pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19
Abstract
Due to social restrictions, many activities that were carried out
conventionally during the pre-pandemic Covid-19 are now regulated and
transformed into virtual spaces, so that virtual interaction is no longer an option
but a necessity. The change in the use of gadgets during the Covid-19 pandemic
hit has encouraged an increasingly diverse cyberculture that is formed, inseparable
from teaching and learning activities which are now being carried out online.
Situations like this require students to carry out various virtual interactions more
often and be active in them. Various virtual interactions carried out by students on
digital platforms in the learning process enable the formation of cyberculture,
moreover mediated by applications that are currently popular during the covid-19
pandemic. This research was conducted to examine whether there was a positive
and significant relationship between student virtual interactions in forming an
online learning cyberculture for students in the city of Medan during the Covid-19
pandemic. It was carried out on 348 students from three universities in Medan
City by distributing questionnaires using a purposive sampling technique and a
data analysis tool in the form of SPSS 22.0. The results of the research analysis
using the Sperman correlation obtained a significant value in the research
hypothesis, namely 0.000 <0.05 so that H0 was rejected, between the virtual
interaction behavior variable and the cyberculture variable which resulted in a
unidirectional significant relationship between the virtual interaction of Medan
city students and cyberculture with a value correlation 0.558 and included in the
category is quite strong
