dc.description.abstract | The thesis entitled interaction between actors on 'wild' BMX bicycles by
taking a case in the Pasar 5 area of Jalan Setia Budi, Tanjung Sari Village, Medan
Selayang District, Medan City to find out how the interactions between actors in
the wild BMX bicycle racing community in Pasar 5 , Jalan Setia Budi, Tanjung Sari
Village, Medan Selayang District, Medan City.
This study used qualitative methods, and the data collection techniques used
were participatory observation and in-depth interviews. The informants in this study
included actors involved in BMX bicycle 'wild' activities, namely jockeys, party
holders, PS, donors and spectators, each of these informants was representative.
The results of this study indicate that there is interaction between actors that
is collaborative, persuasive, directed and negotiated in carrying out a wild race
competition and there is symbolic interactionism, so the reference for researchers
in describing this research is the interaction between actors and actors who have
power.
In addition, there are various actors and have their respective roles
according to the actor's status. Apart from that, there are also interactions between
actors that are cooperative, persuasive, directives and negotiations in carrying out a
wild racing match and there are symbols of interaction such as applause and
shouting of names by the audience, short shouts and bicycle pedal swings by
jockeys, hand signals by jockeys. security guards and referees. There is also power
in the way of 'wild' BMX bikes. This occurs in the relationship between party
holders and PS. In addition, power also affects the spectators in the 'wild' BMX
