Kualitas Hidup Penarik Becak Motor (BSA) di Kota Pematang Siantar

Abstract

BSA motorcycle rickshaw is a three wheeled transportation which is public transportation in Pematang Siantar City and was once the main means of transportation that is very popular by the people in Pematang Siantar City. But currently BSA motorcycle rickshaws are unable to keep up with a balanced flow of competition, making BSA motorcycle rickshaws lose their existence. This study aims to look at the quality of life of BSA motor rickshaw pullers in Pematang Siantar City. Quality of life considers individuals' goals about their position in life in the context of the culture and value systems in which they live and in relation to their goals, expectations, standards and concerns for life. This study aims to look at the quality of life of BSA motor rickshaw pullers in Pematang Siantar City. This research is descriptive with a mixed approach using integrative quality of life theory. The population in this study were BSA motor rickshaw pullers in Pematang Siantar with a total of 30 respondents using a saturated sampling technique where all members of the population were used as samples. The data collection technique was through the WHOQOL-BREF Indonesian version questionnaire which assessed four aspects, namely physical health, psychology, social relations and the environment. The results of this study indicate that of the four aspects of quality of life, Physical health is the aspect with the highest score and is on a moderate scale (55,4) with indicators of pain and discomfort assessment, energy during sleep and rest. Psychological aspects on a poor scale (32,5) with indicators of assessing positive feelings, concentration (learning, thinking, and memory), self esteem, self image and negative appearance and feelings. Aspects of social relationships on a poor scale (31,4) with assessment indicators of personal relationship assessment, social support and sexual activity. Environmental aspects are on a poor scale (33,6) with assessment indicators of physical safety and security assessments, home environment, financial resources, availability and quality of health and social services, opportunities to acquire new information and skills, participation and opportunities for recreation, the physical environment (pollution, noise, traffic) and transportation. The final results of the quality of life of BSA motor rickshaw pullers in Pematang Siantar City as a whole are on a poor scale with a score 38,2 (from a range of 1-100)
