dc.description.abstractEmployee performance is the result of work based on responsibility in achieving company or organizational goals that can be measured based on the quality and quantity. Performance conditions at PT. Bank Tabungan Negara Medan Branch Office has not shown good performance, this is due to the burdensome job demand and the level of burnout experienced by employees due to excessive job demands. This study aims to determine the effect of job demand and burnout on employee performance at PT. Bank Tabungan Negara Medan Branch Office. The influence between of job demand and burnout will be analyzed partially and simultaneously on employee performance. The form of research conducted in this research is quantitative research using an associative approach. The population in this research are employees of PT. Bank Tabungan Negara Medan Branch Office, totaling 158 employees. Sampling through probability sampling technique with a simple random sampling model, using the Slovin formula, totaling 61 respondents. Primary data in this study was conducted by distributing questionnaires directly while secondary data through previous research. The data analysis method used validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that the job demand variable (x1) had no significant effect on employee performance. Meanwhile, it is known that the variable burnout (x1) has a significant effect on employee performance. The result of the coefficient of determination test showed that there was a fairly close relationship between job demand and burnout on employee performance with an R value of 0,706. Through the adjusted R square, it is also known that the job demand and burnout variables contribute 48,1% to the employee performance variable while the remaining 51.9% is influenced by other variables not discussed in this study.en_US
