Employee performance can be said to be good if the results obtained are higher
than work standards both in quantity and quality. Maximum employee performance
will ultimately improve the company's overall performance. Assessment of work-life
balance and emotional intelligence in employees is needed to improve the performance
of employees.
This study aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance and emotional
intelligence on employee performance at PT State Savings Bank Medan Branch Office
Consumer Collection Recovery and Asset Sales Unit Division. The effect of work-life
balance and emotional intelligence will be tested partially and simultaneously on
employee performance.
The research method used in this study is a quantitative research method with
an associative approach. The population in this study are employees of PT State
Savings Bank Medan Branch Office Consumer Collection Recovery and Asset Sales
Unit Division, totaling 61 people. Sampling was carried out through nonprobability
sampling technique with a saturated sample model, the number of respondents was 61
respondents. The data collection method used in this study was primary data obtained
by observation, interview, and distributing questionnaires, while secondary data was
obtained through library research. The analytical method used is validity test,
reliability test, classic assumption test, multiple linear analysis, and hypothesis testing.
The results of the research conducted show that the variables work-life balance
and emotional intelligence have a partial and significant effect on employee
performance. The work-life balance and emotional intelligence variables also have a
simultaneous and significant effect on employee performance, the resulting coefficient
values show that the relationship between work-life balance and emotional intelligence
variables on employee performance is very strong with an R value of 0.885 or 88.5%.
Adjusted R Square value is also known that the variable work-life balance and
emotional intelligence can explain the employee performance variable of 77.6% while
the remaining 22.4% is influenced by other variables not explained in this study
