dc.description.abstract | Generation Z is a digital generation that knows the intricacies of organized
electronic communications. There is no doubt about Generation Z’s data-gathering
abilities. Due to their ability, Generation Z have a higher chance and interest in
investing in the capital market.
This study aims to analyze the impact of anxiety traits and the big five
personality on Generation Z in Medan City. The impact of anxiety traits and the big
five personality will be analyzed partially and simultaneously towards investment
decision.
The research method used is quantitative with an associative approach. The
population in this study is Generation Z in Medan who invest in the stock market,
with a sample of 96 respondents, using purposive sampling technique. Primary data
was obtained through direct distribution of questionnaires then secondary data
obtained through library research. The analytical method used is validity test,
reliability test, classic assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, and
hypothesis test.
As a results, anxiety traits (X1) and the big five personality (X2) have a
significant effect both partially and simultaneously on the investment decision of
Generation Z (Y). The coefficient of determination test shows there is a close
relation between anxiety traits and the big five personality with an R value of 0,840.
Through the value of the adjusted R square, it is also known that the variables
contribute 70% to investment decision variable while the remaining 30% is
influenced by other variables outside this research model. | en_US |
