The grounding network plays a very important role in the safe operation of the substation, it can not only provide a reference for all kinds of electrical equipment in the substation but also quickly discharge the fault current or lightning current when the system is disturbed or struck by lightning. Disorders due to lightning strikes will result in a sudden increase in voltage and a decrease in a relatively long period of time, this disturbance occurs either by direct or indirect strikes. The most frequently used grounding system in substations today is a combination of grid and rod. This final project discusses the safety of substation grounding due to lightning strikes. This study aims to determine the standard of safety at substations with a grid grounding system and then calculate the value of the touch voltage and step voltage. Where with the IEEE 80-2013 standard touch voltage and step voltage are good if the actual touch voltage and step voltage are smaller than the permissible touch voltage and step voltage.en_US
