Nanoparticles added to insulating oil can improve the quality of insulating oil and reduce insulation failure. The added nanoparticles can function as free electron capture in insulating oil which can affect the leakage current. This study aims to see the effect of adding ZnO and SiO2 nanoparticles and mixed ZnO-SiO2 nanoparticles into pure mineral oil. The method to be used in this study complies with the iec 60270 standard in partial discharge testing. The oil will be tested at 30℃ to 90℃ in 10℃ increments. The results of this study indicate that the higher the concentration of a mixture of ZnO and SiO2 nanoparticles added to pure mineral oil, the higher the partial discharge value. The partial discharge value will decrease as the temperature increases but is still better than before the addition of nanoparticles. The results of this study indicate that the use of mixed ZnO-SiO2 nanoparticles is better than the use of one type of nanoparticles. The highest percentage increase was the c9 sample, which was 25.64% at 40℃, which contained a mixture of ZnO and SiO2 nanoparticles of 0.4 g/l with a composition of 80:20.en_US
