dc.description.abstractAlong with the development of the human population, the higher the human need for energy sources, especially the need for electrical energy. The distribution of electrical energy supply from the State Electricity Company (PLN) also cannot reach all regions in Indonesia due to the geographical conditions of the area that are not possible to be reached by PLN. There are many alternative ways to get electrical energy, one of which is by using a hydroelectric power plant. This water energy can be utilized into various things, one of which is to become a source of energy used to drive a picohydro water turbine Archimedes Screw turbine. Because the speed of water in each area is not the same every time, the electrical energy generated by the hydroelectric generator must be stored in the battery so that the energy can be used by the load stably. In terms of charging the battery, sometimes the battery is full but still connected to the battery charger. This will have a direct impact on the battery which will result in the performance of the battery decreasing. To prevent this, a system is made that automatically cuts off the current flow to the battery when the battery is fully charged. Likewise, when the battery voltage is below its nominal value, it is expected that there is a system that works automatically to charge the battery. In this study, a charging device design and battery charging experiments were carried out in Sihemun Baru Village. The results obtained in the 12V 12Ah Lead Acid battery charging test without a lamp load for 9 hours 20 minutes with an average charging current of 0.46 Amperes. And the length of time to discharge the Lead Acid 12V 12Ah battery in a state of charging is 3 hours 40 minutes with an average power in is 0.7 watts and the average power out is 3.6 watts.en_US
