The low interest in entrepreneurship is still a concern in various circles, as
a result it has not been able to support economic prosperity in Indonesia. Growing
interest in entrepreneurship from an early age is a challenge from various parties
from universities and to the elementary level, namely schools. Entrepreneurial
ability is obtained not only by learning but by entrepreneurship practice. Ar Raudhatul Hasanah Islamic boarding school is one of the Islamic school facilities
that seeks to form an entrepreneurial interest in its students. The interest of the
students is grown through learning and various pesantren activities, including
being part of the business management of the Islamic boarding school both in sales
and finance.
The purpose of the study is to determine the role of Islamic boarding schools
in increasing student entrepreneurship to create strong personalities and be able
to create job vacancies so that they can reduce unemployment in Indonesia.
The form of this research is qualitative research using a field research
scheme, namely obtaining data through field studies by means of interviews and
documentation, as well as the theoretical approach of experts used in improving
the entrepreneurial spirit of students.
The results of the study showed that the method of developing the
entrepreneurial spirit of students has been ideally implemented through direct
practice and supervision from the board of the Boarding School Business Entity, as
well as the application of business unit management in developing
entrepreneurship for students at the Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah Islamic boarding
school in Medan. This is evidenced by the direction and supervision carried out by
the boarding school for the students in managing these businesses, and there are
also many business results that become a forum for the students to manage.
