The social reality of the dual roles experienced by women selling vegetables at the Lau cih wholesale market is a productive role, apart from the reproductive burden that housewives have to endure, they are able to play an active role for the needs of the family with their own initiative. While working productively while working at home, in reality there is a shift with the existence of patriarchal and patrilineal ideology because the reproductive role can be carried out by the husband and his children. The social role is carried out to actualize himself into social activities, and to remain connected with social ties with other community members. Working as a vegetable seller is carried out with motivation and self-orientation that is able to work independently. Independent work is done to improve the economy and family needs, so as to increase self-esteem in the family and society. The motivation to work as a vegetable seller is based on personal and family desires. The results of the study also show that in the motivation that underlies them to work, informants feel they have the freedom to be productive by reflecting on their own potential. Women who work as vegetable sellers do not just work, but have motivation, enthusiasm to work hard and goals to achieve both in terms of fulfilling the economy and family (child savings and future savings), as well as meeting other secondary needs
