    Abstract
    Rajamaligas Village is a village that has natural wealth of fertile soil and has a river that supports cultivation of various plants such as rice, corn, peanuts, oil palm and others. In general, the people in Rajamaligas village work as farmers and some people have jobs as teachers, health services, entrepreneurs and work in the village government. Men who work as teachers have a negative stigma because in general the teaching profession is a job that fits the image of women. This writing is motivated by the existence of gender stereotypes in elementary school teachers. Through this research the authors discuss how gender stereotypes are towards the teaching profession in Elementary School (SD) 091547 Rajamaligas. The title raised by the researcher in this paper is "Gender Stereotypes in the Teacher Profession at SD 091547 Rajamaligas". The type of research used in this research paper is descriptive qualitative research. The informants considered able to provide answers to the problems to be studied were all male and female teachers at SD 091547 Rajamaligas as well as teachers outside the school and the school principal. The data contained in this paper comes from two sources, namely primary data and secondary data. The teaching profession has stereotypes including that the teacher is light work, the teacher is a weak figure, women lack competence to become leaders in schools, the teaching profession requires a feminine image and the teaching profession is not suitable for men. The stereotype that thinks women are more suitable to be teachers does not rule out the possibility that schools do not need male teachers. Schools still need male teachers as father figures for children.
