    Abstract
    Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital in Medan is one of the hospitals listed on the Hospital Accreditation Committee as the Type B hospital which is referred to as hospital treating the patients. Thus, nurses in Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital Medan are demanded to show a good quality of work performance in order to give a good impact for the organization and society. Therefore, the attempts to increase the nurse performance become the most serious challenge to achieve the goal and sustainability of Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital Medan. The research aims to analyze role of work motivation in mediating the effect of Work Safety and Health (K3) and work stress on nurse performance in Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Medan. This associative research employs quantitative approach and the samples are made up of 185 respondents consisting of permanent nurses of Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Medan. Primary data are collected by distributing questionnaires and secondary data are collected by documenting the organization and library archives. The data are analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique with Smart PLS 3.0 version as analysis tool. The result indicates that Work Safety and Health (K3) affects positively and significantly on work motivation, work stress affects negatively and significantly on work motivation, Work Safety and Health (K3) affects positively and significantly on nurse performance, and work stress affects negatively and significantly on nurse performance. In addition, the test result indicates that work motivation can mediate the effect of Work Safety and Health (K3) on nurse performance, and work motivation can mediate the effect of work stress on nurse performance.
