Politik Pembangunan Desentralisasi Pendidikan Provinsi Sumatera Utara pada Tahun 2021

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the politics of the development of educational decentralization in North Sumatra Province in 2021. Education decentralization is a concept that gives regional governments autonomy in managing the education system in their region. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews with various related parties, such as government officials, school principals and teachers. Secondary data was collected through document studies, including government policies, statistical reports, and related literature. The results of this study indicate that the politics of development of educational decentralization in North Sumatra Province in 2021 has several aspects that need attention. First, there are local government efforts to improve access and quality of education in remote and border areas. Second, there are challenges in terms of equitable and effective allocation of the education budget, as well as increasing teacher competency and the availability of adequate educational facilities. This research contributes to enriching the understanding of the development politics of decentralization of education in Indonesia, especially in North Sumatra Province. The results of this research are expected to be the basis for more effective and efficient policy making in increasing access to and quality of education in the region. This research can also be a reference for further research on the development politics of decentralization of education in other provinces or in different time periods.
