dc.description.abstract | The telecommunications system is one of the most important things in human life.
With the existence of telecommunication system, people can easily communicate over long
distances. U-DWDM system can facilitate long-distance communication with effective
communication network and large bandwidth. This technology requires an optical
amplifier that optimizes the U-DWDM system by improving the system performance.
In this study, an analysis of the performance of the hybrid amplifier EDFA-YDFA
with the parallel in-line type of amplifier. The analysis of the performance results is based
on the value of the performance parameters, namely BER and Q-factor.
Based on the results and simulation analysis of the research carried out, the hybrid
amplifiers EDFA and YDFA parallel in-line can offer an ideal performance up to a
transmission distance of 200 km on both 4 and 8 channels. With the 4 channels, the
maximum value of the Q-factor is 10.2825 and BER of 4.21×10-25 and with 8 channels,
the maximum value of the Q-factor is 7.64008 and BER of 1.07×10-14. | en_US |
