Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a common and treatable disease characterized by progressive airflow limitation and tissue damage. According to the 2019 Global Burden of Disease data, COPD is the sixth leading cause of death in Indonesia. The design of a chest cavity measurement system for patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is conducted to find an alternative solution to this problem. This measurement system utilizes LiDAR sensors as components for measuring chest cavity expansion. Some LiDAR sensors may have performance discrepancies between the technical data provided and the actual performance of the LiDAR sensor. This results in disparities between the designed results and the actual performance in real conditions. Additionally, LiDAR sensors, especially low-cost ones, can be sensitive to the color of the target surface and also sensitive to ambient light. This research employs a quantitative approach to generate an analysis of the performance of the LiDAR sensor system in measuring the chest cavity of patients with COPD. The repeated measures method will be used in data collection to establish the relationship between the performance of the LiDAR sensor system, the intensity of ambient lighting, and the color of the subjects under study. Based on the analysis conducted using Spearman rank correlation analysis, there is a significant influence of the measured surface color, specifically the color of the skin, on the relative standard deviation of the LiDAR sensor system measurements. Furthermore, there is a very small or insignificant influence of the ambient lighting intensity used on the relative standard deviation of the sensor system measurements.en_US
