The voltage and electric current connected to an electrical device can be monitored
remotely without using cables (wireless). This article discusses the design of a
system for monitoring the value of current and voltage using LoRa (long range)
wireless technology. The design is carried out using an Arduino Uno as a
microcontroller component, a PZEM-004T sensor as a voltage and current
measurement device, and a LoRa Ra-02 SX1278 as a LoRa wireless
communication module. Based on the test results, the design is able to detect
voltage and current at a distance. The range that can be achieved is 500 meters
without obstacles with a delay of 13 seconds. The loss that occurs at a distance of
130 meters is 150.29 dB, while the loss at a distance of 500 meters is 165.50 dB.
The attenuation value produced by the system is -52.54 dB at a distance of 130
meters, while at a distance of 500 meters, the attenuation produced is -40.84 dB.
The accuracy of the PZEM-004T sensor reading is very good, with an average error
rate of only 0.098% in measuring current and voltage.
