Power quality is a major issue in the power transfer process. This is caused by disturbances such as voltage sags, voltage spikes, harmonies, etc. Voltage sag is the most common disturbance in the electric power system. There are many voltage compensation devices that can be used such as Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR), Distributed Static Compensator (DSTATCOM), and Unify Power Quality Control (UPQC). However, the DVR is the most effective device in dealing with voltage sags. In this study, the DVR will be used to overcome voltage sags and will be supported by the Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to improve the performance of the DVR. Matlab-Simulink will be used to analyze the effectiveness of FLC and BESS in improving DVR performance to overcome voltage sags
