Analisis Jumlah Tenaga Kerja Optimal Berdasarkan Metode Kerja pada Stasiun Pemilahan Kayu di PT Bukit Intan Abadi
Abstract
Inappropriate work methods can cause a heavy workload for workers which
causes the daily targets to be reached cannot be completed. PT Bukit Intan Abadi
is a wood processing factory located in Medan Deli sub-district, which is an
industry that produces sawn wood or Finger Joint Laminating Board (FJLB) and
plywood or Plywood. The problems that arise are in the Finger Joint Laminating
Board (FJLB) production area at the wood sorting station. These problems are in
the form of inappropriate work methods, hot work areas, and high daily targets.
At the wood sorting station there are 26 workers who sort the wood based on the
size of the wood. Every day the amount of wood that comes in is as much as 100
m3, but the wood that can be sorted is around 50-70 m3 per day. The method used
to overcome this problem is the time study method and stopwatch time study.
Based on the results of the calculations that have been done, the workload
received by each worker is 117.83% with the actual work method which is
classified as overload workload and 77.33% with the fishing work method which
is classified as underload workload. The optimal number of workers using the
actual work method is 31 people and using the suggested work method is 21
people. The application of the prohibition method is better because the company
does not need additional workers to meet the targets to be achieved
