The traditional market in the city of Medan is an important trading place for the
local community. However, traditional markets are often seen as dirty and not
environmentally friendly, with a lot of waste and pollution. In order to improve the
quality of traditional markets in the city of Medan, this design uses a green
architectural approach to design markets that are more sustainable and
environmentally friendly. This design involves collecting data that describes data,
describes, explains, both primary data and secondary data based on existing facts,
then analyzed to produce a design and conclusion. The results of this design are
market designs that utilize solar energy sources as natural lighting and rainwater
treatment systems that can be reused, as well as the application of green
architectural design concepts such as the use of environmentally friendly materials.
This design is expected to improve environmental quality in traditional markets,
increase visitor comfort, and provide economic benefits for traders and the local
community as a whole.
