    Abstract
Today, plastics have become a common goods for a daily life. As a result, landfill sites occupied by tons of unreusable plastics, including the Terjun Landfill. Plastics on/in the landfill site would gradually degraded into a smaller sized plastics, called microplastics. Microplastics have a size under 5 mm. In this research. The purpose of this research is to analyze the shape and polymer type of the microplastics and the correlation between the presence of Terjun Landfill effects the abundance of surrounding microplastics. Microplastics would be extracted from the landfill’s leachate and small stream’s water surface around the landfill and visually observed with microscope; Raman spectroscopy for polymer type. The correlation between the presence of Terjun Landfill effects the abundance of surrounding microplastics is calculated with Pearson’s Correlation by 95% significancy value. In Terjun Landfill’s leachate, discovered the microplastics’ abundance value range from 513 to 540 particles/L and for the stream’s water surface the abundance value range from 93 to 178 particles/L (before the landfill’s activities) and 183 to 290 particles/L (after the landfill’s activities). The shapes of microplastics varied from fragments, fibers, bead, pellets, and foams. The discovered microplastics’ polymer are likely to be Polyethylene (PS), Polypropylene (PP), and Polystyrene (PS). There is a strong correlation between the presence of Terjun Landfill effects the abundance of surrounding microplastics with the correlation value R = +0,691, P value = 0,003 (P < 0,05).
