Perancangan Multigenerational Community Center dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Berkelanjutan di Belawan
Abstract
Nowadays social changes often occur in big cities to small towns. These
changes are influenced by increased geographical mobility and socio-cultural
changes, individualism, and forms of interaction that influence the behavior
patterns of each of them between generations. Several groups were influenced by
the development of the city which was getting worse due to the emergence of
frequent criminal acts such as violence, drugs, juvenile delinquency, and so on.
According to Todotua (2016), the effect of population density on crime rates is
that crimes are always followed by an increase in poverty. Due to the location of
Belawan which is far from the city center, there is a lack of monitoring that the
area actually needs a community space as a place that houses various generations
who live to understand, respect, learn, and develop creativity.
The design of the Multigenerational Community Center is a project that
helps the Belawan area experience healthy city growth, develops social capital
and cohesion, and builds a shared generation, as well as bridges the gap between
generations and communities. In design, it was originally intended as a middle
low but has become a tourist attraction for the city of Medan with local
community managers. So that it can improve local economic development and
sustainable development supported by ABG (Academic-Business-Government) +
Community.
