The development of Medan City has led to an increase in population, increased activity, changes in the use of water catchment land into residential land, one of which is around the Terjun Landfill area, Medan Marelan Sub-district. Settlement, one of which is around the Terjun landfill area, Medan Marelan sub-district. This is directly proportional to the increasing need for clean water and the risk of water pollution including groundwater (dug wells) from leachate produced by the landfill. This study aims to determine the vulnerability of groundwater pollution using the APLIS method (Altitud, Pendiente, Litologia, Infiltration Prefencial, Seule), to determine the actual occurrence of groundwater pollution using the Pollution Index (IP) method, and the factors (landfill distance and groundwater depth) that most affect groundwater pollution in the Terjun landfill area, Medan Marelan. Groundwater vulnerability zonation using the APLIS Method resulted in a low vulnerability class of 35.81% with a classification of >20-40%. Samples of community shallow dug well water around Terjun landfill were taken and then tested in the laboratory to determine the quality of community shallow dug well water with test parameters Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and Mercury (Hg). Laboratory test results of dug well water samples for TSS, TDS, and Hg parameters show that all 13 dug well water samples meet the quality standards where each quality standard based on PP RI No. 22 of 2021 and Permenkes No. 32 of 2017 is TSS = 40 mg/l; TDS = 1000 mg/l; Hg = 0.001 mg/l. Furthermore, the calculation of water quality status is carried out using the Pollution Index (IP) method, the results of the IP calculation are 0.33678 where this value is included in the category of meeting quality standards (0 < IP < 1). The results of linear multiple regression analysis show how much influence the distance of landfill and the depth of the groundwater table has on total suspended solids (TSS), total dissolved solids (TDS), and mercury (Hg) as shown respectively in the R square value where the R square value of TSS = 0.275, the R square value of TDS = 0.371, and the R square value of Hg = 0.548. From the R square value, it can be concluded that the distance of the landfill and the depth of the groundwater table to the dug wells do not greatly affect the groundwater quality in the residential area around Terjun Landfill.en_US
